Lock Chimes Privacy Policy

The short version: Lock Chimes collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of ours that the app talks to. Your sounds stay on your phone.
Who We Are
Lock Chimes is made by Faraday Soft, the app studio of Leon Johnson, in Texas, USA. Contact: support@faradaysoft.com
What Stays on Your Phone
- Sounds you make or import (recordings, audio pulled from your videos, files you open, sounds you download in the app's browser) are stored only on your device, in the app's own folder. You can see and delete them in the Files app under On My iPhone › Lock Chimes.
- Favorites, people, avatars, themes and remembered USB drives are stored only on your device.
- Install history and backups (copies of chimes you installed or replaced) are stored only on your device.
Microphone, Photos and Files
- The microphone is used only while you record a sound, and only after you allow it.
- Choosing a video uses Apple's photo picker, which runs outside the app. The app receives only the video you pick and never sees your library.
- Choosing a USB drive or a file uses Apple's Files picker. The app can read and write only the folder or file you pick.
Network Use
- Find Sounds is a web browser inside the app. The sites you visit there receive the same information any browser sends them, under their own privacy policies. Lock Chimes adds nothing and keeps no browsing history.
- Paste a Link downloads the file at the link you paste, from that site.
- Purchases (Lock Chimes Pro and tips) are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies.
Sharing
When you share a sound, it goes wherever you send it (Messages, AirDrop, another app) and only there. The file contains the audio and its name, nothing else.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
How to Verify
The app's App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected, and its privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) declares no tracking and no collected data types. Everything above can be checked against what the app actually does.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
